In 1877 the 9th bonded winery in California was established. That same winery is now home to our portfolio of wines: Ghost Block, Elizabeth Rose and Oakville Winery. We use our bond number as a way to distinguish our history and heritage in the Napa Valley.
A family that has been harvesting grapes in the Napa Valley for more than 100 years owns the Bonded Winery #9 portfolio of brands. The vineyards, in both the Oakville and Yountville appellations, are a sprawling 635 acres and 100% of the acres are certified organic. Each brand is a reflection of our property, our heritage and the extraordinary quality that the Oakville and Yountville appellations provide.
Ghost Block wines are all single vineyard. Our finest fruit has been chosen to make exceptional and collectable Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Elizabeth Rose wines represent the affordable elegance of the Napa Valley. Primarily sourced from our Yountville property, our Chardonnay, Pinot Noir & Merlot can be enjoyed any day of the week on any occasion.
Oakville Winery Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel represent the impeccable quality of the region at reasonable prices.
The owners of Bonded Winery #9 began purchasing vineyards throughout Napa Valley 110 years ago. Their first vineyard was purchased with a single $10 gold coin in 1903. Today the family owns approximately 1,000 acres in Napa Valley with over 300 acres designated as a preserve intact with its natural state and 635 acres farmed as certified organic.
Grower and Producer
We are proud to define ourselves as both a grower and a producer. The family owns the land where we plant, manage, sell and source our fruit from. Family pride is one of the ingredients that make our wines special.
Certified Organic Vineyards
The family began practicing organic farming methods in their vineyards more than 30 years ago. Today they are among the largest organic vineyards in the county. Of all the components of the family business, being growers is where they feel most comfortable because it is much more fulfilling to be with the soil. Conservation and sustainable farming is where the heart of the family business is.
